Insurance Industry Executives Establish New Managing General Agency Platform

SALT LAKE CITY, January 13, 2014 — Two insurance industry executives – Tom Golub, former CEO of Beecher Carlson, and Ted Nolan former President of OnPoint Underwriting, Inc. – have formed BlueSkyRisk, a managing general agency (MGA) platform which seeks to participate in both distribution and underwriting aspects of the commercial insurance industry.  Nolan is Chief Executive Officer of the new firm and Golub serves as Chairman.

The company’s primary commitment is to match industry specialization and superior underwriting analysis with customized distribution strategies for various growth sectors of the US and Global economies.  The Company specializes in acquiring and developing insurance underwriting facilities for both the property / casualty and accident / health markets.

Nolan said the new company has a different approach to creating and acquiring MGA business, “We are acutely focused on three things: we are an underwriting company; we choose to operate in niches with sufficiently complex risks requiring true underwriting expertise; we focus on distribution and understand the need to effectively develop and implement specific strategies for each offering.”
